Credit Risk Analyst
We're looking for a credit risk analyst to assess lending requests from [segment] borrowers and to monitor part of our existing book. You'll read the accounts, work out how a loan will be repaid, propose conditions and a risk rating, and write the credit memo our committee decides from, working alongside relationship managers while keeping the credit view independent.
What you'll do
- •Analyse business borrowers' income statements, balance sheets and cash-flow statements, and adjust for one-off or unusual items.
- •Judge repayment capacity from recurring cash, test it against a downside case, and assess the value of any security offered.
- •Propose conditions, covenants and reporting requirements that each address a named risk.
- •Recommend a risk rating under our credit policy, using the rating model as a tool and documenting any override.
- •Monitor an assigned portfolio between reviews and escalate early-warning signs promptly.
- •Write clear credit memos and present them to the credit committee.
What you need
- •You have analysed the financial statements of business borrowers and written lending recommendations on them, even if a senior reviewer signed them off.
- •You can explain how a loan would be repaid from cash flow, and what would have to go wrong for it not to be.
- •You write clearly enough that a committee can find your recommendation and your reasons without asking you.
Nice to have
- •Experience setting or monitoring financial covenants.
- •Experience with a portfolio watch list or problem-loan process.
- •A professional qualification in credit, accounting or finance.
- •Experience in asset finance, property lending or another secured-lending segment.
How we use AI tools
- •Where our policy permits, you may use approved AI tools for drafting, summarising or checking arithmetic; customer information stays inside approved systems.
- •You check every figure an AI tool extracts or calculates against the source statement before it goes into a memo.
- •The recommendation, the rating judgement and any covenant proposal are yours; a tool can help you draft but not decide.
Pay
Salary range: [currency, minimum–maximum], plus [equity/bonus/benefits]. The range reflects [location/working pattern]. We place every offer within it using the same pre-set, job-related, gender-neutral factors — level, complexity of the lending segment the analyst will cover, whether the seat carries a monitoring book as well as new requests — never previous salary or negotiating style.
